The Public Research Centre Henri Tudor’s main mission is to promote innovation in both the private and public sectors by providing support services across the main technology orientated areas: industrial technologies and materials, information and communication technologies, environmental and health care technologies.

General equilibrium modeller – economist (M/F)

Full-time contract 2 years (possible prolongation)
Immediate opening


The role offers to key challenges:
  • To contribute to the conjoint development of two economic models for Luxembourg: a computable general equilibrium model and a techno-economic model and to assimilate results into a hybrid Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) framework
  • To assist the Luxembourg public bodies (Service central de la statistique et des études économiques, Ministère du Développement Durable et des Infrastructures) in the economic and sustainable development and strategic planning for Luxembourg, in particular regarding future energy supply-demand scenarios.

Requirements for this position are:
  • PhD in economics with a specialization in general equilibrium modeling, computational sciences and/or applied mathematics,
  • Working experience of 2-5 years in an R&D environment (public or private), with proven organizational skills as a team player,
  • Strong scientific background in computation, economic models, applied mathematics, optimization, and LCA models. The candidate should have a good publication track record,
  • Software literacy: good command of standard office software; scientific programming software (e.g. Python, C++, R, Matlab); optimization software (GAMS) and, ideally, LCA software (Simapro)
  • Fluency in English, the command of French, German or Luxembourgish is an advantage; excellent writing skills in English and preferably also in French.
